Pastor Robert Roberts has been serving at Word of Life Slavic Baptist Church of Spartanburg for the past six years. Affectionately known by the children in the church as “Big Bob,” he faithfully preaches to the adult congregation each Sunday and also leads Children’s Church. After services, he often remains long after others have leflstening to children’s stories, offering encouragement, or simply sharing a hug or fist bump.

He is also frequently found counseling and ministering to adult members of the church well after the service has ended. Prior to Pastor Bob Roberts ("Big Bob") has faithfully served the Lord for decades through preaching, discipleship, missions, and Christian leadership. Passionate about building strong biblical foundations in the next generation, he has ministered through Kids for Truth and has impacted thousands of young people by preaching at Christian camps across the United States, including The Wilds Christian Camp.

For the past eight years, Pastor Bob has served as an Assistant Pastor as the Teaching Pastor. His heart for teaching God's Word and shepherding people has made him a trusted voice of encouragement and biblical truth.

Pastor Bob is married to his wife, Sarah, and together they have a daughter, Cadence. In October 2023, he was diagnosed with colon cancer, which later progressed to Stage 4. Throughout this difficult journey, he has remained steadfast in his faith, demonstrating unwavering confidence in God's sovereignty and grace.

Out of this season, Pastor Bob launched the Dead Man Talking Podcast, where he shares candid conversations about faith, suffering, hope, and eternity. Even amid the challenges of cancer, he continues to proclaim the gospel, encourage believers, and inspire others to trust Christ completely. His life is a testimony that God's faithfulness is sufficient in every season, and he remains committed to finishing his race well for the glory of God. Word of Life Slavic Baptist Church in 2019, Bob Roberts served at Wild Christian Camp for over 20 years as the assistant director of the junior camp program. Throughout his ministry, he has dedicated his life to presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children in a clear, engaging, and accessible way.

He is also the author of the Kids for Truth curriculum, which is currently used by more than 1,000 churches across the United States for children’s evangelistic clubs.
